This is a very nice shot. It looks as though you added a soft focus in editing. In the future try doing that manually with a smaller DOF by way of a wider aperture. Artistically, you have a strong vision in shots you just need to work on technique and originality. Very nice putting the focal point in the lines of the rule of thirds. Pre-editing this shot was very nice. You do not need to edit every shot you take. Editing can be the enemy with you. Your artistic vision is very strong. Don't second guess that with editing. If I were you I would try this again without editing the shot and use a wide aperture to get the small DOF you want.
